Scrapbook Sunday

What a long weekend can do for some major scrapbooking time....

The first is another layout for Heather's book. It didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but I did get to use one of my new Cricut alphabets on it.

The next one I did as another one for my on-line class. This one turned out better than I expected. I've been wanting to scrapbook these pictures for a while. I'm glad I finally got around to them.Isn't she adorable? It is hard to believe these pictures were taken almost a whole year ago. The one on the right is one of my all-time favorites of her.


Del is not too thrilled about this next one. The pictures are almost two years old now, but one that I've been wanting to do for a while now. This was part of the Real World Color in my class. I was to use red, gray, white and lime green. Colors I would never think to put together, but love the result.
I think I bought the cute little stickers for this next one around the same time the pictures were taken earlier this year. I loved how it turned out.

And last, but not least, I had some left over scraps from my layout last week, so I made a few more cards.

Since we are at the end of November and Thanksgiving has come and gone, I thought I would share the decorations I have on or dining room table (soon to be replaced with Christmas decor).

Having the long weekend, I've been spending a lot of time scrapbooking again. Stay tuned-tomorrow is scrapbook Sunday and the last Photo-a-Day post (I can't believe I actually made it through the whole month!).

I'm not usually one to go out and fight the crowds on Black Friday, but I did go to Michael's, A.C. Moore and one of the local scrapbook stores today. Now I know the intent of Black Friday is to get a jump start on your Christmas shopping and not buy things for yourself, but I couldn't resist the amazing deals I got. I bought four cartridges for my Cricut die cutting machine for just $29.99 a piece (normally $89.99) and the best deal of the day - I bought two alphabet sets for my Quikutz tool for just $9.99 each (normal $129.99). Now I know the math is simple here, people, but I just have to lay it out - I saved $480 today! Woo Hoo! Merry Christmas to me! :o)

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!!

Instead of cooking this year, we had a nice buffet lunch at Red Rocks Cafe.

And since it was absolutely beautiful here today, it was perfect weather for a walk with the puppy in the neighborhood.

And, yes, that is Del wearing shorts on Thanksgiving Day! It was 64 degrees here today.

Day 25 - The Diet Coke Enterprise. I saw these at a festival I went to earlier this year and finally got around to ordering one for Del. (He doesn't look too happy in the picture because he hasn't been feeling well today, but he did say he liked it! :o)

Day 26 - The next picture is not a happy one...and it has taken me a couple days to post this because I wasn't over the shock and disappointment until now. Sunday I was in my scrapbooking room when I hear Del say from downstairs..."Ohhhhh Nooooo!.....Tammy, you need to come down here." Of course, I go into panic mode and think Maggie did something to Chalupa, but it wasn't Chalupa.....it was our area rug.....a $1500 area rug, obliterated in a matter of a few minutes. As you can see, she feels really badly about it! (Not!!)

I guess it could have been worse...it could have been one of our cherry wood tables....or even worse...it could have been Chalupa.

And she is just too darn cute to stay mad at....

Oh the joys of puppy parenthood.

You get two photos today...

The traffic I was sitting in on the way home in the rain.

And Maggie at the door at the vets office, waiting for the doctor to come in and look at her eyes - which have been red and matting for several weeks now. The doctor said nothing major is wrong, just some irritations.

Scrapbook Sunday

Another very productive weekend in terms of scrapbooking. I worked on some pretty old pictures for the first layout...my high school graduation (1986).

Journaling: I don’t remember much about graduation day other than being very glad to be out of high school–didn’t like high school very much. The only thing that made it bearable was my best friend. I feel I owe a lot to Miriam and the Benstein family. Spending so much time with them over the years really opened my eyes to another world and I can honestly say it was because of them I had such a strong desire to further my education, and do whatever it took to make that happen. I think my life is very different because of the Benstein family and I cherish the friendship I still have with Miriam today. Pictures taken June 8, 1986 Journaling, November, 2008

And with the leftover scraps from that page, I made these cards...

Then I did a page with some pictures of Del's parents when they visited in 2006 and we went to the Matthews Alive Festival.

And last but not least, I did a 8 x 8 layout about how Del and I are alike and how we are different. Obviously, this does not touch on ALL the ways we are alike and different, just a few.

I'm having a lot of fun catching up on some well over due scrapbook time.

Day 21 - "Momma will you PLEASE play with me?"

Day 22 - We woke up this morning to a 23 degree temperature, and since our neighbor waters his lawn every day (even though we are still on water restrictions and only supposed to water on Monday's), the sidwalk this morning in front of his house was literally, a sheet of ice. Quite the surprise to Maggie when she tried to walk on it. :o)

Photo a Day - Day 19 & 20

Day 19 - A lemon dessert (graham cracker crust, lemon jello, evaporated milk with some sugar) I made for a Thanksgiving potluck at work. This is my all time favorite dessert. Apparently, others liked it, too, since I had no leftovers to bring home (which was actually kind of a bummer!)

Day 20 - I know this has been the case for some of you for a little while, but it was just this week our gas prices finally dipped below that $2.00 mark! Yeah!!

I had to work late last night so didn't get a chance to post the photo of the day, so you get two today.

Day 17 - Maggie looking out our guest bedroom window out on the golf course.

And Day 18 - In honor of our seven year anniversary....(You gotta love self portrait mode...it really flatters the fair skinned, don't you think? Wow, a double chin, even! And I still actually posted this - amazing!!)

Scrapbook Sunday

I have quite a few layouts to post today - some I did a while ago for my niece's album that my sister, Tina, asked me to do quite some time ago. Tina - You'll be happy to know I am still working on this - slowly but surely.

This is the opening page for the album. This is one of those pictures that I absolutely love!!!

This is all the Easter pictures they took of them in their new Sunday dresses.

This layout represents the relationship between two sisters in their younger years.

The middle photo on the first page of this layout opens up to reveal three more photos and places for journaling.

I really love how the next one turned out (Tina - these are news ones you haven't seen yet) - it is always hard to put so many photos on one layout. Again, the top left photo of the first page is another one of those that I love, love, love!! The middle pages overlap between the two pages, so you have to use your imagination and pretend the two pages are sitting side by side.

And the last layout I did this weekend..."You"...it seems it should continue to say "up close and personal."

I guess I should mention that the little girl in these pictures is now 26 years old with a child of her own. :o)

And because I had some scraps left over from a previous layout shown in my last week's post, I made some cards, too.
